To discover the Luberon, the first thing to do is carefully put away your car keys: you won't need them. Because the region is to be breathed, admired and experienced, immerse yourself in its varied landscapes. On foot, by bike, on horseback or in a canoe, you have a multitude of choices. Here's a brief overview.

Walks and hikes
Put on your sneakers and get ready to take in the sights. Colors, smells, flavours, a real stroll through the land of the senses. There's so much to see! We particularly recommend:

Magnificent cycling routes
Visiting the Luberon by bike is an excellent choice! For yourself, for your health, but also for the environment. Various loops link the small hilltop villages of Goult, Gordes, Roussillon and Oppède-le-vieux. Compose your own itinerary as you wish: from 2-hour loops to multi-day tours, it's all possible.

Take on the giant of Provence
It's a must-do, an experience that every seasoned cyclist must attempt once in his or her life. The ascent of the Géant de Provence is a reference to add to your list of achievements. You'll have to climb 1910 meters to reach the summit of Mont Ventoux, and you'll be all the prouder for it!
Mont Ventoux has 3 sides
- from Bédoin: 21 km of pure pleasure, constantly uphill, with a positive difference in altitude of 1590 meters. You're pedaling your way to paradise, but it involves about 2.5 hours of purgatory.
- from Malaucène: the route is just as difficult, but alternates between very steep sections and others that are less so, allowing you to recuperate. The distance is the same, but the elevation gain is “only” 1530 m.
- from Sault: longer but easier, as Sault is already 760 m above sea level. The route is approximately 26 km long.
Take to the heights!
Introduce the whole family to Via Ferrata! ASPA takes you into the gorges of Aulan, facing Mont Ventoux. They offer supervision and equipment hire, so all you have to do is let yourself be guided. Safe thrills and unique panoramas guaranteed.
For climbers, the Luberon landscape is an invitation to climb. Among the many sites to climb, we recommend the Buoux cliffs: some 400 routes of outstanding beauty.
Water sports
Looking for a refreshing spot? Apt has a well-equipped lake suitable for the whole family. For something a little wilder, the region boasts a number of beautiful lakes:
- Lac des Vannades at Manosque (45 mins away)
- Lac de Monteux (1h)
- the magnificent Lac de Sainte Croix, (1h 30)
All offer pedal-boat, canoe and paddle rentals.

Horseback riding
Whether you're an experienced rider or a beginner, treat yourself to a magical escapade adapted to your level. Get in touch with the equestrian centers: they offer rides supervised by professional riders. Native to the region, they'll reveal secrets only they know.
