Provencal Village

The beautiful villages of the Luberon

Did you know that the Luberon is home to 5 of France's most beautiful villages?

  • Gordes: a chic, pleasant hilltop village with magnificent panoramic views
  • Ansouis, with its castle and breathtaking views over the Aigues valley
  • Lourmarin, an artist's village bathed in light
  • Roussillon and its colorful facades, surrounded by ochre cliffs
  • Ménerbes and its unique view of the Luberon mountains

It would be cruel to have to choose and recommend one over another. The best thing is to see them all...

Don't forget the less-touristy ones: Murs, Goult, Oppède-le-Vieux, Saignon... and so many others!

The lavender fields, an unforgettable landscape of Provence

The lavender museum

A soothing, pastel-colored museum with an unmistakable scent. The very soul of Provence is embodied in this little flower with its many virtues. This museum, just a stone's throw from Gordes, tells the story of lavender since the 16th century. Featuring:

  • 346 collector's items
  • lavender sachet and scented watercolour workshops
  • lavandin distillation and sensory tour

Under the skies of Provence

Want to inspire your children and put stars in their eyes? Here are a few suggestions.

Saint-Michel-l’Observatoire

Here's a little village very close to the Moon. The clarity of its skies has earned it the right to host the Haute-Provence Observatory. The large dome is open to visitors, and the telescope measures 1.93 m in diameter.

The star trail

For a pleasant stroll, take your little princes on the Chemin des Étoiles (star trail), a trail that winds through the village and tells the story of astronomy.

Sirene observatory

In Lagarde-d'Apt, the Sirene observatory awaits you to take a look at the sky with you, day and night. Learn to recognize the constellations, look at the sun in front of you in complete safety; in short, learn all you need to know about the infinite space that surrounds us. Many workshops are organized according to the season, so don't hesitate to contact us.

The Apt Museum

An original museum that tells the story of the town through its three specialties and their evolution over time, since the 18th century: candied fruit, earthenware and ochre.

Discover how these activities have shaped the town and organized the lives of its inhabitants.

Fontaine-de-Vaucluse

Is there any place more fascinating than Fontaine-de-Vaucluse? In this small village, which has given its name to its department, lies a chasm of as yet unfathomable depth, which gives rise to the Sorgue river.

The spring is fed by melting snow and underground water networks. Pure water at a constant temperature (around 13°) in the heart of Provence. The “fountain” has fascinated people since ancient times.
